Guys, what is the form here, I was out on the mountain bike at the weekend, cycling along a byway from west chisenbury, at the top of the hill the track passes a barn that the military use for training, only this time they had surrounded their camp with razor wire which blocked the track.
I understand that they need to be able to train but there are huge areas that have no public access, the wire was next to a sign that showed the track as a byway, have they ignored it or are they within their powers?

Where about exactly? A lot of the tracks are restricted byeways and I believe the Military have the right to remove access. I am on the other side of the Plain at Shipton Bellinger and am often out your way on my Mtn Bike wavey
Its the track underneath "west chisenbury" on your map, there is a barn part way along it before it reaches the perimeter track which the army use for training.

It's the firstclimb out of my house, doesn't take too long to get warmed up!

smile How is that new bike?
I've only been out a couple of times, it's a lovely bit of kit, am planning on a longer ride round the back of Tidworth tonight.
