How would you like to work for crankandpiston?

http://www.crankandp...next-big-thing/

Regular readers among you will know that epic photography is our bread and butter, and we are always on the lookout for the next big thing.

That’s where you come in. If you fancy yourself as a bit of whizz behind the camera lens and want an opportunity to prove your worth, then this is it.

All you need to do is send us some of your best automotive shots, and you could receive one of ten signature crankandpiston t-shirts and the opportunity to join the crankandpiston team as a freelance photographer.

All you need to do is follow these simply steps:
1. Pictures need to be automotive related. You can operate as much as you want in your own creative land so long as the end result is relevant to crankandpiston.
2. As always, we prefer an artistic angle as much as possible, so try to make as much of an effort as possible. We already have an area for your smartphone pictures HERE.
3. Only five pictures per entrant please. Please send your shots to info@crankandpiston.com
4. This might sound silly but it MUST be your own photo.
5. Please make sure they are 72 dpi and at least 1000 pixels wide. DO NOT SEND HI-RES FILES

And for those of you keen to see the artistic trinkets we receive, we can go one better. YOU, the readers, will have an opportunity to vote for your favourite images as we search for our winner.

Deadline for submissions is November 31st. Happy shooting!

Interesting, I'm in for this. Need to get out and shoot now!

O/T was that you in the yellow RS I passed in Knowledge Village last week?
Hey.. more than likely. I'd be well interested to hear if there is another one in town as I thought I was all alone.

I'd love to take part but I'm a bit busy these days (not much time to take some quality pics)...
Take part... you might have all day everyday to take pics :-) That is one of the main reasons for hosting the competition after all.

YAY! I'm up for this, although I doubt anyone wants to see a z06 considering there is so much more delicious metal out there.
Bring it on... Everyone loves a Z06

these days everyone uses photoshop. whether or not that is a good or bad thing is up to the photo editor. i really don't like to see overly retouched pictures.
I don't personally... but do use a post program.

Sorry for being a spaz but what qualifies as "hi-res" and are we allowed any Photoshop tweakery...like the example below I took.

No high-res means... don't send us 60mg tiff files.

Lovely pic!

Nice shot, I think the high res will be because of the file size but wait for Phil to chip in.

PS will allow you to change the DPI of the shot

I am fairly certain nearly all of the shots you see at CP will have an element of postprocessing in them of some sort

All of the shots on crankandpiston as well as all of the shots floating around any sites will have been post processed to some extent. A bit like using a dark room digitally.

Young Moe does like to use Photoshop though, although I personally haven't got a bloody clue where to even start. A dark science I'm not that interested in.
