Clear for Take-off - Friday Morning?
Discussion
Heading up to Quadra road runway for a spot of flying on Friday morning if anyone wants to watch me crash?
Will be taking the Learjet, F-15, Tigermoth and maybe some others if they fit in the Figo.
Have an FPV camera too so spectators can check out my crashing from a (minature) pilots point of view...
Have a really nice drone that might be airworthy at that point as well....

I might be tempted, what time?
I'll leave at about 7am, be flying by 7.30Up Quadra road, past the Arabian Ranches, over the 611 Bypass road, straight at 1st roundabout where the cyclepaths hang out, left at the 2nd roundabout.
I have readied:
Parglider
Ultralight (Hobbyking Quicksilver)
Twin EDF F-15
BAE Hawk Red Arrow
LearJet
QR-x350 Quad
Have a zillion batteries on charge and several tubes of epoxy. should be a good morning's crashing.
Good to meet you Hans.
A reasonable day's flying. And I use the term 'flying' loosely....
All aircraft glued back into single pieces an ready for next Friday
Even the blue F-15 that looked terminal is ready to go. 2 full tubes of epoxy on that one.
The FPV goggles seemed to work well, although I don't think I'll be using them myself on the jet, maybe something a little more sedate for my first go flying from 'inside'.

dead easy to find del. going from the ranches go past the big roundabout at the end of the cycle track and turn left at the next one. the road goes over a cattle grid, up the hill and there he'll be.
should be up ther mate as can't do the trackday now. also placing my order as we speak for the monocoupe as my card wouldn't work in the US.

Anyone that comes gets a free FPV ride in either a Tigermoth or F-15.

What time would you be there Dan? Tempted (if I can get out of the house) to pop up rather than running the race bike at the track day (which is being held during the day!).
I will be leaving for the proper airport at about 5:30am to drop the daughter off on a big, real aircraft. Then heading straight up to Quadra aerodrome for some polystyrene fun, so will probably be around from 6:30 or so. Maybe closer to 7am.Dusty964 said:
I may come and have a look and bring my katana-hurriedly attempting a to fix a few loose connections right now-mainly due to running out of talent at precisely the wrong time.....
Let me know if you need any bits or pieces - I have about 3-4 destroyed aircraft from which to salvage parts Servos, wires etc.Just about stuck this one back together after 3 years of sitting in the shed looking very crashed....
Have the Learjet back in (almost) 1 piece, it's mostly made of glue now but I have a body and wing set on their way from the US so I might take this one to the limit on Friday.
Tigermoth is back together, although I might look at some strengthening, those wings look mighty frail!!
The Red arrow will also be in attendance. Trusty, not crashing, one piece, Red Arrow.
Has Shirt got his Li'l Butch flight-ready yet?

I appear to have smashed the screen on my charger- I've had 2 Lipo's explode in the past...I'm not too good with fire, so stting it about charging.
if I wake up, I may bring my Katana, and dazzle you all with an exemplary display of how to turn an rc plane into talcum powder sized pieces.....
I have LiPo chargers that I connect to the car battery if you cant charge it. Have loads of spare batteries too.if I wake up, I may bring my Katana, and dazzle you all with an exemplary display of how to turn an rc plane into talcum powder sized pieces.....
Talcum powder? Pah. I once had a Deprom Raptor that literally vaporized when I went from deck-level fast fly-by into a hard climb. Problem was that I was inverted so down was up and up was....the ground!

Slightly off topic but does that Hobby Centre have model paints or is it all R/C stuff?
If not does anyone know where I can get model paints and brushes?
Toy Store in MoE; they have some Revell kit there. If not does anyone know where I can get model paints and brushes?
I am heading up to Quadra on Friday to test my new huuuugggeeee powered glider for FPV capabilities, plus the T-28 and the Quad.
Need a cordless drill to make a hole in the road for the Bungee launch system if anyone has one? Failing that I have a 6 inch nail and a BFH.
I'll be there from 7am.
