Car registration renewal - grace period?

Hi all,

My cars registration needs to renewed in a few days but it needs to go into the garage tomorrow for some work to be done, which means by the time it comes out the registration will have expired. Is there a grace period with the RTA to get the registration renewed or will I be fined? I know my insurance lasts for 13 months, I assume the 13 month of this is to allow you get your car registration renewed.

Any ideas?
