I heard a rumour about this last year but couldn't find any more information but today The Lincolnshire Echo has this:

http://www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk/Cadwell-Park-h...

I hope it happens and if it does I really hope they don't spoil the best circuit in the UK!

...... based solely on the track itself I would still place Oulton and Donington above Cadwell.
I was worried that you were going to say Croft laugh Hope to see you there in May.
I agree that both Oulton and Donny are good tracks but Cadwell just has the edge, to me anyway.

..................

Hi Al, agree with the track exit causing problems, or maybe you only have problems when I'm there wink

Graham, I agree with your thoughts on using the valley to extend the track. I've seen a Ginetta G50 race at Cadwell and they managed with the width! I think the width thing could be something to do with the MSA and track licences.

.............

The rumours I heard were:
New pits where the collecting area is now.
Current cafe removed and new one built.
Hall bend to go.
Circuit extended by going straight on at the Hairpin (apparently MSV own the land outside the circuit there) and returning at Barn.

As I said it's all rumour so please take it as such.

From an initial consultaion taken last year...
Anymore information on this consultation as this is the first I heard about it?

............

Al, if you do come back to Cadwell (and I know it's a big if) in addition to what norfolkscooby say's, there is also a track exit at the Hairpin.
I'm surprised that the CoC didn't mention these options.

............

One other thing that's not been mentioned, as far as I know Cadwell doesn't have any problems with noise.

A planning application has appeared on the councils website for a footbridge over the track just before the left hander before The Mountain.

http://publicaccess.e-lindsey.gov.uk/online-applic...

Does it look long enough for the track underneath to be widened in the future?

I'd not read that so thanks for pointing it out.

So MSV pay a lot of money to get planning permission for a bridge on land that they own that will have no impact on anyone.

But someone at Lincolnshire CC has the time to read this PP and is stupid enough to comment on it.

Just how stupid do you need to be to say:

"It is considered by the Highway Authority that the proposed development will not be detrimental to highway safety or traffic capacity."

I can see MSV, being fed up with the idiots at Brands, giving up on Cadwell if the local council are just as stupid/unhelpful.

I can see the need for a bridge as the Cadwell Park website says they have a camp site opposite the pit lane for the super bike meeting.

I know the super bike meeting is the biggest event at Cadwell but it not the only event. Their calendar is full, a lot of track days and private events.
I don't know about private events but at track days 99% of people who are not driving watch from the cafe or nearby.

As for the old gate arrangement - I think they are getting short on marshals and as someone has said if there are no marshals then some idiots just open the gate.

But I'm sure they could have done it better.

Looking on the bright side - they do appear to have made the bridge long enough for the track to be widened.
