Forgive the complete newb questions, but i'm struggling to sift through the mire of rules & regs to find what I actually want.

I fancy giving a couple of local speed hillclimbs a go - I understand I need a National B license, and how to go about getting one (And the benefits of hillclimb schools, which I am thinking i'll give a go first), and have just applied to join the local motor club, but...

I already have a weekend toy - A Mk3 Ford Capri, which has had an engine swap to a 2.9 Granada Cossie lump (Plus a variety of Brake/Suspension/etc changes).

From what i've read, am I correct in thinking that this would be Class C3? "Modified Limited Production Cars over 2000cc". It is road-registered, and MOT'd, but obviously not within spec for "Production". Just a little confused with S12.6.2 - "With the exception of any engine fitted to a vehicle complying with 12.1, the engine must be of a make and type produced in at least 1,000 identical units and fitted to a vehicle originally available through the normal commercial channels of a land vehicle manufacturer."

Am I allowed to drive this in a national B event, on a National B license, or is the capacity too high for Nat.B license?

If the answer to both of the above is yes, Am I also correct in thinking that Class C3 requires a roll-cage?

Thanks
