Marshall Training day - Croft

Did anyone attend the marshals training day at Croft on Sat 25th?

I had registered to go through DDMC (wasn't on BMMC site) and chased up a week prior as I had not heard anything.
I was told information was yet to be sent out. I chased up again with my Croft contact two days prior and was told it was a BARC event (I am BMMC/DDMC) he didn't really know anything but maybe turn up for around 9am.

I decided not to go as it's a fair drive and a fair commitment without any information whatsoever from the organisers.

Did it go ahead? Did others get info posted out? Is it because i'm BMMC I have not been included?

New to marshalling so wondering if I have missed a trick. I am a bit disappointed after rushing to get Oranges sorted for the day to have missed out.

I had done one at Cadwell back in November with BMMC (which was really well organised) and am suitably 'refreshed'. Thanks for the tip though.

As most of my marshalling will be at Croft, I thought it would be good to do their day.
I have heard of some 'goings on' with Croft management so wonder if that had anything to do with it.

I'm putting it down to not being a BARC member. Hopefully I'll find out when I'm next up there for the Sprint event.

Shame really as if it was a good day I'd have likely joined them. After this experience I'm put off.

That's put off joining BARC, not marshaling

I've never been to the Harewood event before but have put my name down for the 19th. Closest event to me in York so if it's good, I will hopefully get there again.

Which organisations have you joined?

Same organisations as me then.

I usually sign up through the BMMC site or record I am attending if am marshaling an event if I have spoken to the club direct, as that way BMMC covers the insurance if there was an issue.

Not looked into Pit Marshaling but I thought that was under the same certification? It's just the rally marshal you need to do an online test which tbh anybody with basic safety sense could answer.

Ahh thanks for the update. Been asking around but good to know the reason.

Hope the organiser is better and look forward to supporting some more BARC events in future, been at Harewood today
