I embarked on a search of curiosity to find out whether the HSCC's 'Tour Britannia' was still being run, however was unable to find anything to confirm this.

For those unaware, the event was an awesome combination of circuit/closed-venue events interspersed with road sections, very much in the spirit of the 'Avon Tour of Britain' from the '70s. Does anyone know why the events stopped being run? They always seemed well-supported when I was reading reports on the modern equivalents 10 years ago or so, plus since then there has been legislative change to (in theory) make it easier for people to organise motorsport events on closed public roads.

Failing the above, I presume the only equivalent events would be Tour Auto, Targa Tasmania etc.?

Cheers Andy, yeah thought as much - bit of a shame as the event attracted a great variety of cars (on the 2 occasions I was able to spectate at least) and the calibre of driving was high. As you say though if the numbers didn't work then not a lot that can be done frown

There isn’t that much difference between what you describe and Rally of the Tests.
Cheers for the recommendations chaps, will do some looking in to the above and The Flying Scotsman/LeJog!
