Hello ultima community.
I just wanted to say hello.
I'm from germany (way down south) and i wonder if there are any ultimas around here near the Lake of Constance?

At the moment i am in contact with ted marlow to fix all necessary options to place an order for a GTR.smile
So, lots of work comming up for the winter!

Hi all,
i just wanted to offer a little update:
My status has changed now form an "enthusiast" to a "builder" thumbup

After dealing with the spec for several weeks, thinking of buying an abandoned project to finish (which i couldn't find), i decided to build my own and placed an order.
Finally, my GTR was delivered last month and i'm busy now......:-)

With my spec i decided to deviate a little from factroy standard (mainly different engine and brakes), which obviously will not enhance a short build time, as lot of engineering is required....

Hi all,
yes, it seems, that kawa-green is en vogue wink
But i doubt, that there are more than a dozend around?
But no matter what color, you always get stared at in an ultima i suppose.

Hi steve, how are you doing down in PNG?
Regarding the engine:
Its a BMW M5 V10!

hi steven,
the engine management system i'm using is a combination of a "DTA S100 PRO" and my own controller unit. As the DTA S100 is only capable of controling the basic functions of the engine (e.g. fuel, spark, ) but has some nice features which make sense using like traction control, lambda target mapping, launch control, switchable maps, ease of programming and it is priced very reasonable among the very few ECUs which can deal with a odd fire V10.

As the BMW V10 is a very complex engine, there are functions to control, which will lead beyond the capabilities of the S100.
For controlling them, i have developed my own controller unit to address functions like lambda sampling, EGT sampling, ion sensing ignition, 'fly by wire' setup, g-force controlled el. oil pumps, CAN communications......

BTW, how is your project going on?

Be patient! The flames are yet to come!!! furiousfuriousfurious

Just imagine, this engine in an ultima, with ultra low restriction exhaust system, roughly 1m long biggrin,
compared to a system under a saloon car with pre-cats, post-cats and lots of mufflers...and approx. 4 to 5m long.

Best place for new Ultima junkies.
Do you have one already or are you thinking of building one?

Hi Michael,
did you swap the BMW for the reason you didn't pass tüv with it or was it simply to weak compared to an LS7.
BTW, which gearbox did you use with your BMW install?
Cheers
Cornel
