Digital Dash interface
Discussion
Looking at the digital dashboards they all seem to require their own sensors rather than taking a feed from the ECU via CAN-BUS.
AIM seem to be the only one that can access the ECU but they don't include the GM ECU in their list of units they can take a feed from.
Has anybody fitted an AIM dash using the GM ECU feed?

My biggest problem with AIM is my ability to read the thing without glasses.
I have now got to the stage where I need glasses to read stuff at about full arm's length. I think I could see a dial well enough, but to read all those little digital readouts on an AIM may not be possible.
Talking to SPA yesterday, they supply all the sensors (which repeat a lot of the GM one's) their dash needs because they would need to be able to "read" the output from the ECU, and with each manufacturer "using a different language" from their ECU and reluctant to supply a "translation" it is difficult to take their info and use it.
I would love some form of lap timing but I think I will go "stand-alone" maybe with a camera systemfor lap info.
