.... Oh, that old chestnut again wink I've been doing a search around the forum for on-the-road insurance and reading this old thread; Ultima Insurance, it looks like the main insurers are:

CCI, Footman James & ClassicLine (Hinckley)

I'm pending feedback from the factory on who they recommend, but I'll start by calling these guys now. In the meantime, any other offers from the group / comments?

Grrrr, this isn't going well frown

Footman James will no longer cover Ultimas. They were withdrawn earlier this mth. Instead, they put me thru' to their "specialist partners" Call Connect. Word of advice, don't even waste your time talking to these monkeys if you get put thru' to them from anywhere, they're epically useless and think an Ultima is a 3-wheeler.

Next, CCI...... £1,700 basic policy (despite a good post code, no accidents / convictions)

Finally, ClassicLine.... £700, which was just about sensible, although 3K miles might be pushing things a bit frown

Any more offers from anyone? (BTW - The Factory have just suggested CCI & CL, so that's that angle covered too)

Thanks for the continued tips guys, here's a quick update....

A-Plan: £1,000, REIS: £3,000, MSM: £1,600, Adrian Flux: £700 (but with an underwriter with TERRIBLE reviews)
People no longer covering Ultimas: Frank Pickles & Footman James

I'm pending a call back from Chris Knott, but at the moment ClassicLine is winning out.

Andy - I called CCI back and it seems there's a big difference in our car values / mileage and you've got history with them. Amusingly, they tried to blag it that I'm in a high risk postcode... which is absolute rubbish, unless you count risk of a Llama walking into our garden and scratching the car, LOL!!

This is why I hate the insurance trawl, there's no consistency.

Thanks for the tip, Paul is a very nice man and has won the business.... 3K miles, inc commuting, £65K value, £695 with £500XS. It really wasn't going to come any cheaper than that by the look of it. Maybe being in my 30s had something to do with it as there were no accidents / convictions to worry about? Job done for the yr anyway, thanks for everyone's comments.

Just renewed with CCI with the usual track cover and 4K miles a year.

£406 for car valued at £53K.

Being an old git has some benefits!

Thread resurrection time.. ;-)

CCI must like you Paul, £1200 for me, but value is higher and I'm in my 30's.

The 2 companies busy sharpening their pencils to get my business this yr are Classicline & Need2Insure. Both are around £670, so not too bad I guess.
