I`m sorry I have to post this once again because it just happened again and I`m getting more angry every time:

Once again I had the great pleasure of dealing with someone for 3 days who bargained with me for parts of the engine bay "package" and we finally found an agreement. So I put the engine on a cradle, mounted it on a pallet, started packing the exhaust system, wiring harness etc. and all of a sudden he was suddenly overcome by the realization that he didn`t have the money to buy it now. As the title says: ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?
Guys, if you don`t have the intention of actually buying one or all of the advertised items and/or don`t have the means to do so then PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE!
Over and out

buying and selling is always a stressful thing.

i was let down recently trying to buy something, so I wouldnt make too much of it on a public forum.

:0)
You`re right, probably better off selling it on ebay then. There`s at least some buyer/seller protection. I thought it would be a great opportunity for new builders and all of the parts are Ultima specific. I guess I`ll just take out the big buck items, these are the ones that are difficult to handle and cause most of the frustration...

Sorry I'm a little confused on this tread.... Has the original post been deleted...?

Your not the guy selling this and some non fitting jigsaw parts.....are you...?...

http://www.racecarsdirect.com/listing/53284/superl...

Do you remember Kyle and roadrunner that bought two off for uk ( they long left this forum) that they described a bag of scrap...? well they stitched crafty up and offloaded to China...never heard how shocked he was...? But he has also gone quiet... Just thinking it would be ironic if this was one of them back to Europe.....

Apologies if I've got the wrong end of the stick with what your selling........?

If not it was a cracking lead in with the rest of the SLC 370 missing off radar saga...
Nope, luckily not me. I never had anything to do with the SLC or parts of it. Here`s what I`m talking about:

If its a used engine I doubt you will get any buyers from new builders as this will make their build a 'Q' plate registration, which is not desirable
It is, I wash`t aware of such a regulation - but it should`t be a problem then for an engine swap/rebuild?

Put it on crags list I am sure there are plenty of buyers in Nigeria
You have a point there, I was just recently contacted by the former and last wife of Nelson Mandela!
She asked very politely if I could assist her in getting $62M out of her Country and the commission for that would habe been 30%. I was very tempted but thankfully declined as it only was USD. Euros would habe been a different thing...

Sorry Sven but is it me you're referring to?
Alex
This forum has a "no name, no shame" policy which I`ll stick to. You can always PM members if you want to.
I think my initial post says it all but as you asked you weren`t the final straw.

I'm sorry Sven however, we never agreed a price. I asked you what price you would sell the items at and you answered. We did not settle a price.
Secondly, you packaging the items, putting it on a pallet etc. was being hasty on your part. You got ahead of yourself and that's only your own fault.
Next, I actually didn't say this on the final email I sent to you as I was being polite, however, another reason for not purchasing is that I cannot be 100% sure that the engine has in fact done the number of miles that you say it has done. The same can be said for the gearbox. I'd rather spend more on the same package, brand new, and know its not done any miles at all.
Lastly, please don't start talking about not being able to afford items when you don't know who you're talking about.
I'm sorry you've been frustrated by my withdrawal from purchasing your items however the frustration is entirely your own making.
Alex
I don`t understand why you want to discuss the issue publicly especially after mentioning you were`t the one making me post the above?

Because you made the choice to air the series of events after I was being perfectly polite with you
Which had nothing to do with you or the thing we discussed and not a single name was mentioned anywhere until you came up.

Alex93 - didn't he say it WASN'T you he was talking about?

I'm interested in the Q-reg question... If the engine was registered in another car in the UK, would you then need to get a receipt for an engine rebuild before you could register your car with a new reg number or would the engine have to be brand new? Hope that makes sense?!
I learned that you couldn't use e.g. second hand fuel tanks when registering a car as new, the same probably goes for all or most of the other components.
How this is tested though I don't know - I think the Factory issues a document which testifies all parts being new. Which they obviously can't do when using second hand parts.
Don't take my word for it though, I'm not at all familiar with the registration process in the UK.

I took the engine kit out btw, it probably wasn't a good idea to begin with...

To gain a 'New' registration the car has to be built from new parts.
There is an exemption for one major assembly that is not new but you must be able to demonstrate that it has been refurbished to an as new condition.
If this assembly is the engine, then it is an advantage to refurbish an older unit as the emmisions requirement at IVA is based on the age of the engine. If the engine is old enough (like my 6.7L engine) the emmisions could be 'Visual smoke' only.

Steve
So you can choose one component that is not new and still gain a "New" registration? I guess that will in most cases be the gearbox then as the G50s aren`t available as new anymore.

OK then Alex, as this seems to be a huge personal issue for you:

It`s all about Alex!
I wrote it all because of you. You were the final straw. You prompted the initial post, I was totally and always referring to you only. Although we never found an agreement and you retreated from the purchase I mounted it all on a pallet for you.
You literally devastated all my dreams of becoming a famous engine salesman but thanks to you I totally understand now that I was wrong all the time.

For the adults: apologies for feeding the troll.
