I am changing my 6 tooth reluctor wheel to the 37 tooth reluctor wheel. I am doing this so that I can get as close as possible to generating 40 pulses per revolution needed for a VSS reading for the ECU. I will have the original hall sensor and a VSS sensor reading from the wheel.

Because I am doing this I know I need to reconfigure the speedometer.

How do I set the speedometer for the 37 tooth reluctor wheel?

Thanks, Jim

First of all you may just keep both Sensors If the speedo is a standard Ultima this link may help you:
http://www.caigauge.com/qal.html it has the calibration tables. The one thing I am unclear on is the type of sensor is used for the speedo. Hal vs Magnetic. I am going to use a front wheel sensor http://trigger-wheels.com/store/contents/en-uk/d24... for the ECU and my nav system. Use the one that is on the transaxle for the speedo.

John, I will be using the original sensor to drive the OEM Ultima speedo. I will us the new VVS sensor to drive the ECU VSS signal. The ECU wants 40 pulses per tire/wheel/axle rotation that is why I am switching to the 37 tooth reluctor wheel (although not 40 teeth I figure the 37 should be fine for the ECU). Since I'm changing from the 6 tooth to the 37 tooth I need to recalibrate the speedometer. Is the recalibration simply changing the pin settings on the back of the speedometer, that's what I am gathering?

Times the original count input by 6.16
Based on what F.C. said, I will see what the current pin setting is and multiple it by 6.16 and reset the pins.
