Hi guys,
Does anyone know wheels manufacturers that don't require the studs on the hubs to be cut down?
As it states in the manual, the standard Ultima wheels need the studs removing and cutting down by about 5mm, but are there wheels which will fit the studs without needing to be cut down? Don't want to do it then find out I can't fit different wheels
Regards
Alex

I am sure I didn't cut them down in my build and have the standard wheels. You've got me a bit worried but 3,000 miles later the wheels are still on!
Hmm so for a little expense, wouldn't it be easier to just buy some that are 5 mm shorter? The only issue is that the manual states that it is impossible to cut them down once in place, so I assume the same can be said for removing them? Or would it be possible if deconstruction and removal of the brake discs took place?
Also, maybe it's just that the manual is old and the wheels have changed design to now accept the already - fitted studs?

Cheers guys. I think I'll take them off and cut them down. If need be I'll just purchase some more if a different wheel e.g. ATS requires longer studs.

Well I'm now not sure.
We're going to go for the factory wheels - All black but that's irrelevant at the min - so do I need to cut the studs?
Has everyone else cut them down or have the wheels changed since the manual was written, to accept the standard studs on the uprights as supplied?

Buy the wheels, take the relevant measurements, then shorten if required!
Good thinking! However, it does beg the question why some have had to cut them down and others haven't if both parties have uses the same hubs, wheels and - in theory - studs?
