I am currently in the panelling process of my build having recevied my chassis earlier this year.

I noticed what appeared to be a rust like substance where the square chassis member (the square tube that supports the luggage container lid) and the round side chassis tube meet.

Initially I just put it down to dirt being trapped in the small gap. However, it has definitely developed and is actually rust.

The factory have stated that it is perfectly normal in this area and that I should simply apply some Kurust
and then seal.

Before attempting to resolve this issue I just wanted to gather others' opinions and experiences of
curing this issue.

Have many other builders experienced this problem or have I just been unlucky?

If so what is the best cure?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the confirmation chaps. I have ordered some rust remover. I guess it's not going to get significantly worse in the next week or so? Should I paint over once rust has been transformed?

Thanks to everyone's feedback and reassurance.

I've got at another 16 months before I order the body. So I guess this will allow any other none powder coated areas to reveal themselves!

Can anyone recommend a good protective black paint to go over the treated areas?
