Mercedes Slr Mclaren engine

Would certainly be a hell of a project, and would be a fantastic machine when done. I am not sure how much electronics are involved but I can imagine there is a fair amount more than on an LS, and obviously everything would effectively have to be bespoke (loom, ECU etc). Which is daunting for some, a piece of cake for others!
The other things is - would it fit?
I'm afraid it does... It is a money thing but so tempting... The other things is - would it fit?
Probably I'll have to do some more shopping with you when I get it installed.

Do t they only make about 550bhp out the factory? What supercharger do they use? Would need a couple of turbos I recon to really light the engine off.
The SLR sports a 232 kg (511 lb) hand-built 5,439 cc (5.439 L; 331.9 cu in), supercharged, all-aluminium, SOHC, V8 engine. The cylinders are angled at 90 degrees with three valves per cylinder and lubricated via a dry sump system. The compression ratio is 8.8:1 and the bore and stroke is 97 mm × 92 mm (3.8 in × 3.6 in). The Lysholm-type twin-screw supercharger rotates at 23,000 rpm and produces 0.9 bar (13 psi) of boost. The compressed air is then cooled via two intercoolers. The engine generates a maximum power of 626 PS (460 kW; 617 hp) at 6,500 rpm and maximum torque of 780 N·m (580 lb·ft) at 3,250 to 5,000 rpm.The horses are European (wheel) compared to the American wich are pony's (flywheel). With this in mind I
think the GTR won't be a snail with the SLR-engine inside.

The biggest problem with that package will be fitting the intercooling in such a way that it is comparable to the original, some may say charge-cool it
but again packaging a charge-cooler that is as efficient as the original SLR's intercooler would be a near fruitless exercise IMO.
Stonking motor though!
Yes cooling is the issue but I've got a few engineers that are quite sure they can solve it. I can even but again packaging a charge-cooler that is as efficient as the original SLR's intercooler would be a near fruitless exercise IMO.
Stonking motor though!
get a money back-deal from my seller, who would also install it if I decide to take this route, in case the engine doesn't get in.
(Only problem that holds me back is that it is "alot of money back"-garantee...)
