Got the first part of my build today! THE TRANSMISSION - yeah, not really needed at this stage, but I found one at a good price and decided to pick it up and store it till it would be... Its from a 2006 997 C2... I have 2 days to check it over before the 'no more refund' policy applies...

Questions about the trans:
1) It has silicon sealing at all the joints (looks red in the attached pictures)... is that something to worry about? The seller does not know if the trans was taken apart/rebuilt... All the bolts have blue torque marks, but the trans joints show red sealant...

2) I can move the large lever, but am unable to move the small lever (1/2, 3/4, 5/6) by hand... my mechanic looked at it and said he was able to move it with a mole grip, but should I be worried if I cannot move it by hand? My mechanic said all gear are present...

Assuming the box is good to keep, I want to clean and paint it... What all should I take care about when pressure washing or painting the box? What parts need to be covered up/not painted? Any recommended primer/paint (wheel paint good, or something else)? Any risk of getting water into the box while pressure washing?

Thanks!!

Returned this morning... Will continue to look for a box locally (or might end up ordering from the factory at the end when the time comes if I don't find anything)...
