Sadly guys, I am coming to the conclusion that my pride & joy will have to find a new home and hopefully a new enthusiastic owner that is better placed to enjoy...

I can truthfully say that I have never found such pleasure before in both building and living with this animal, but it is time to change it for something less challenging to get into.
Nothing has even matched to grin-factor, nor the looks from passers by, but, hard that it is, the fact that my wife and I are not going to see 65 again with all that brings....means it is the sensible thing to do.

Thanks for the thoughts guys!

The main issue is the missus. She won't/ can't get in it! I have tried to persuade her.. oh how I have tried! She has been on the back of my Harley, but refuses point-blank with the Ultima!
My 91 year old mum has been in it, twice... Ahh well! I know when I am beat!

Sorry to see you selling, you put a lot of heart and soul into the car.
Can I ask where you got the engine cover badges made up from?

good luck

Hi Graham,

The covers came from GD on special order with blank recess on the middle and made in carbon rather than their standard grp and their lettering in the middle - that was a huge struggle as GD did'na want to do it, so it took a lot of persuasion. Unfortunately the first iteration was not as good as I hoped as the carbon gel-coat they used was the wrong type and cracked with the heat of the engine. I had a carbon air-box made up at the same time, and that showed similar problems. GD took the affected items back & replaced the whole set with new finished in heat resistant gel. Problem gone, I templated the recessed middle using card and sorted out the fonts. Then had the plate done in ally and had the logo CNC'd, finishing in black anodising + coloured outlines for the fonts. Seems a lot of work, but am very pleased with the outcome. No more problems with heat.

cheers
