Having succeeded (barely) in passing all of the AS wiring loom's connectors through both holes in the right-side luggage bin, I set to pre-positioning its forward branches. A few questions have arisen:

- Exactly how do the AS loom's Speedo and Tacho wires (one each) mate up to the Ultima loom's connectors and gauges? I have the standard analog dials. Neither set of "instructions" (Ultima or AS) is at all clear on this.
- What function is served by the AS Check engine light & Ignition switch ON position wires and where do they connect?
- How do the four connectors intended for the battery's + terminal (two each from the Ultima and AS looms) fit on that little post? Is an extender necessary and available?

On the bright side, I got the underside of the center section painted black yesterday (the red really pops now!) and installed the wiper motor.

Hi Mark,

Thanks, I'll tie off the Check Engine Light wire. Any thoughts on the Ignition Switch ON and speedo/tacho wires?

I can't remember all of it from my build 2 years ago, one day I will regret not making better notes!

But yes you will have 3 connectors all onto the battery terminal. This is OK but you wouldn't want to add any more!

The speedo and tacho fittings were something I had to check with the factory - I can't find their reply. I remember it was not obvious though, but when connected it all works. I too have standard gauges. Sorry I can't answer that one.

Mark,

Thanks - much appreciated!

I think I've actually got 4 connectors vying for my battery terminal. Two from the Ultima loom and two from the AS loom. I was planning to leave a trickle charger pigtail in place, too. Looks like I'll need a terminal extender of some sort.

I'll write Richard for the speedo/tacho wiring details.

I have the starter cable and one other at the battery.
The 'other' cable goes to a 100A fuse mounted on the chassis rail inside the passenger footwell. All other power cables come off that fuse.

Interesting. Was this configuration suggested by Ultima and/or AS or did you opt for it on your own? Definitely food for thought.
