I have received my engine from AS in a crate. It is fixed on a stand, that is bolted to the crate.
My plan is to fix the flywheel and clutch to the engine (and maybe headers if recommended), and then lift and install engine in car.

My question is - how do I install the flywheel/clutch/headers when the engine is on the stand. My understanding is that the stand is bolted to the engine where the flywheel will attach - so if I remove that, how will the engine 'stand' while I work on it?

Thanks

A block of wood on the front side is enough to support the engine?? Wow! Didn't know that! I thought the sump (since I have an LS3 without dry sump) on the bottom would not let the engine sit on the ground/table, but had to be 'hoisted' at all times... excellent pictures, thanks!!

I still have quite a while before the engine goes in, but I have been thinking about this during my break from the build - rather than enjoy a holiday, my brain keeps going back to questions on the build! Weird huh??? My wife thinks I'm crazy...
