I just found the most beautiful replacement gauge cluster for the Ultima. I saw these on another Ultima a few years ago, but couldn't identify them until recently. After a little digging I found some modders that did some wonderful things with them. Check it out...they are from a Miata. The 1st images are from the Ultima install I found, and the others are images from modders:

That looks really nice. Do you know if they can increase the mph from 160?
I'm not sure...I haven't contacted them yet. I wasn't too concerned about it though because I wasn't planning on doing any track days and I know I'd never see anywhere near 160 on the street. smile Still...they do a lot of custom work so maybe they can make a 200 unit; I'll keep you posted after I call.

The initial look is very nice but then I think about visibility through the steering wheel to the gauges and also would the cluster take away visibility of the road. Just something to think about.
The cutout is only about 6" tall. LOL I've seen much taller setups in you guy's cars already. The only part that would be visible would be the display and the digital readout...the rest would be "behind" the dash.

With the Miata cluster I think the guy settled on this:

In my search I also found that Autometer now has a custom gauge application that allows you to build your own gauges. They offer so many options and colors that you can get just the look you want. I did this design to match a Black and Gold EVO:

Their website application is a lot of fun to use:

UPDATE: I think I just found the ultimate display for the Ultima! This thing is very pricey...but man it's awesome!

Checkout that last LCD image...Ferrari anyone?

I have the Dakota digital fitted
That came out very nice! It's sized just right for the Ultima. Seems like you could even center it over the wheel if you wanted to.

EDIT: Naw...after looking twice I realize it wouldn't fit centered. Still, It looks great!
