Splitter material

Pondering a front splitter. Like the idea of a 'sacrificial' plywood one rather than carbon. So what type of ply (marine ?) and what thickness (9mm, 12mm ??)

If anyone could make a quick measurement then would be much appreciated.

Also any advice / experience on fixings

Thanks folks..... 9 mm marine ply it is.

Any suggestions on mounting.... Factory approach seems to be to bond ally brackets to the clip then screw to them, with 2 supports up to the clip frame where the stay mounts.... Any pictures or suggestions welcome. Checked cj's site and he did it a bit different so any pics would be good.
