Gear change linkage options

The Ultime is currently on a cable system to the Porsche transaxle box.

Has anyone ever retro-fitted a solid rod system and got rid of the cable system?

If so, is it worth doing (does it work??) and who supplies the bits?

The name stuck from a long while ago when I had a 4.6 John Eales engine in a Westfield, it truly was a bit silly!!

That all sound good, it may save a few bob if lubricating and adjusting it works.
I am slowly working through the car so it is now on my list.
The car was sitting for a long time and needs a good sorting.

Interesting about folk going the other way.

Has anyone driven both?
