A GTR with this motor and tranny combo would be epic. If that came to pass my L.S. and 996 GT2 TRANNY ARE FOR SALE
Indeed, although I am hearing that the DSGs are very hard to calibrate, so dropping it into an ultima would prove a challenge... I did ping tremec when it was first announced to see they were planning an aftermarket version, but they responded that they had no immediate plans... boo

If GM sells the LT6 in the form of Connect & Cruise package with the Tremec transmission ( like the LT4 with the AT8 transmission, check Chevrolet website), what are the difficulties for integrate the package in the car ?

In any case, this combo would be epic in this lightweight car !
Well. if you just ignored the engine ecu and gearbox calibration, the only other show stoppers might be the length of combined engine/gearbox and where the prop shafts lie. I imagine the LT6 is dimensionally similar to other small blocks, maybe with larger heads, if so it should be 'fittable',. Exhausts should not be a problem providing the gearbox outputs in a good enough position to maintain a decent prop shaft angle, getting shafts made should not be too difficult..

The factory only offers a manual option but it's your time and money so there's no reason you can't ruin your own car with an automatic. biggrin

Seriously though, IDK why everyone feels the need to start re-engineering Ultima's before they've even sat in one. After putting a few thousand miles on mine I can tell you that car is damned near perfect out of the box. An automatic would absolutely ruin the fun. If you were chasing tenths racing for money a DCT might make sense but other than that, no no a thousand times no.

From a technical perspective I doubt you'll ever get the GM tranny in there. Path of least resistance is probably something like this...

When I am at full pelt in the Ultima I really would value a paddleshift,

Yes, well, one of those Albins would suit an Ultima very well, but over here is £30k inc VAT + another 3K for Geartronics paddle shift.

Before I jumped into that I would probably want to triple check the Tremec was not gonna work. Cant imagine the mass-produced tremec would be anywhere near that price..
