That'll be a 2006 modern 100bhp/1000cc 8250 rpm beautiful V10 all aluminium boat anchor.(OOOOOOOOOOOPPS).

As for the price look at the advert ( I don't want to get told off for selling on the forum again)

All joking aside, This engine is the dogs! I can also have the chassis the chassis changed to take this package without too much time or effort?

Bless you all for being so loyal, but I think you have all missed the point, This V10 is something special and not just another chevy. The quality and technology of the BMW V10 is amazing putting most modern engines in the shade. If anybody is worried about the thought of fitting it, don't. This is not a problem!

This is just an evolution, a chance to have something different, something very special!!! You know it make sense.

Love you all

Yes all of the above,

It's out of the 2006 BMW M5 with less than 20,000 miles on it.

Hey Scotty-boy

If you can get the new M5 V10 for that sort of money I'll have 10 of them! The cheapest I have seen them for is £10k in Germany.

its just a costly way to be different for no apparant real gains/benefit over an LS. (or please explain - apart from an oww errr its a V10 factor)
but theres always somebody for something
Craig whatever I say it seems that you will poo poo it. If you can't see the advantages of the latest technology bmw over the ls1 ls3....... It doesn't take Einstein to see what I am getting at.

Ascari chose the M5 V8 to run in all their cars with fantastic result and they had the choice of any engine. This is yet another generation on from their engine.

I suppose it is also a disadvantage that if this engine goes into a newly built GTR it will
have to have a "Q" plate.

Regards
No it will go on an age related plate like any other ULtima!

If that's the case then why are all the ultimas on the road not supporting Q plates??? The engine I put mine through with was a 1973!

I'm pretty sure you can use 1 second hand component.

Yes - you can use 1 - the gearbox

From that website :-

"Kit cars which have been built using not more than one reconditioned component will also be registered under a current mark. This is subject to the provision of satisfactory evidence that the component has been reconditioned to an "as new" standard. An ESVA, SVA or MSVA test will be required"

That is the G50 gearbox accounted for....

With a second-hand BMW engine fitted, you have to then have a "Q" plate.

Lots of ultimas on the road with age related plates!!!!!!!
Where there's a will there's way.

This is not an issue.

Good graph mate,
As you know the ultima is very light and with a very light car you don't need huge amounts of torque. The power curve of the V10 continues for another 1500 rpm after the ls7 has finished which will make fast driving a lot easier to manage. Another thing with the BMW the controls for emissions are massive and by remapping and removing them you instantly get LOTS (talks of 560bhp+torque) more power free of charge. All you have to do is make it a basic throttle bodied, injected engine. Don't forget this engine was developed from the F1 program.
Another thing you must remember is the resale to a potential buyer will be a lot more attractive than the common V8.
Please don't think I am bhing the chevy (please remember I have one) I am just being honest.

I didn't say it was an F1 engine just developed from using the technology. It still has another 1500 rpm over the ls7 that's a lot!
