Fontana Resort invited us to a plush show last weekend, indoors, air con, with carpet underfoot. It was more like a promotions for new cars show than an enthusiasts display, but it was an interesting weekend. I didn't take any pics of the new cars, as they all look the same to me.

Some very expensive sports cars and some old classics.

And there was our group of hot rods, mine is the red one:

I've just built a 'rag top' for mine, to keep the searing midday heat at bay. Not exactly a perfect fit, but it only cost £150 to build. Plus the wife wasn't happy when we drove home with an umbrella up one evening, when the Asian monsoon did its best to flood us out.....

Yes, loads of yank tanks here, but there is still a massive amount of imported 'exotica' around. For a dirt poor third world country there is a lot of money, in certain circles.

A Filipino 'friend' of mine in Manila recently received delivery of a brand new Ferrari, ordered from the factory. He has money, lots of it. His garage, the yellow one is the new one:

Shipping used cars into the PI is fraught with hassles, mainly from customs men with their hand out for extras. Plus it is basically illegal as well. brand new cars is okay, but not used. Some law invented by Gloria to help the Philippines automotive industry.

Not that we actually have one here....
