I have sky plus.

No tv aerial, just currently connected to sky.

Getting a HD tv with built in HD freesat.

Will I need to get an aerial installed to get the HD freeview channels?

Probably not - as we watch mainly sky one/ sky atlantic.

Probably upgrade to Sky HD - but wanted to check picture Q on freeview first.

I don't really like super sharp HD pictures, to be honest, so will only pay for the upgrade if I can get the images the way I like them.

So, am I going to need a new sky dish or new LNB if I upgrade to Sky HD?

cheers - but I think I made an error.

I think it has HD freeVIEW NOT freeSAT.

Then you need a decent aerial and you have wasted everyone's time who posted above.
Ah, but I have now learned a great deal about what I need if I ditch sky for freesat, so I doubt anybody has wasted any of their time, per se.

So, it seems I do have a tv aerial.

The Samsung found about 60 or so DTV channels.

The SD channels seem perfect, but the HD channels are very glitchy.

I assume the HD signals must need a stronger or better signal? What a bugger!

Yes, sky+ connected by scary.

Appletv on hdmi

Tv aeries for DTV.

The sky picture is amazing. If SD via Scart is this good, HD via hdmi must be amazing.
