Wifi Dongle for Sony Bravia TV

Hello,

Ok, so I bought myself a relatively modest 32" Sony Bravia TV with internet capability. I then read some reviews about a Hama wifi dongle that worked a treat with a variety of "smart" TVs (mainly references to Smasung). I plugged the little fella into the Sony TV and it states that the dongle is not setup properly/compatible.

Is it common knowledge, but has passed me by, that you have to use a Sony wifi dongle with their TVs because nothing else will work or am I being dumb and I need to do something to the dongle before inserting it into the TV. The dongle handbook makes no reference to TVs.

I think I may go down the route of home plugs because I have plenty of sockets; relatively new build and the builders must have loved sockets or over ordered or something because there are 36 sockets in my house and it's only a two bedroom semi!
