New 60" TV ideas needed

I'm looking for some ideas of what to replace a first gen 56" Philips 21:9 cinema TV with? I'd go with a limit of up to £2.5k - is there anything in that bracket that would be a really noticeable upgrade? The TV will be used for a mix of BR movies + Sky.

What kind of prices are they expected to be? Have seen some 4k sets on JL and they did look quite nice.

Interesting stuff rhinochopig. Can't say I'm loyal to one brand like they are in Japan.

Has anyone got a 4k set yet? Has it been worth it?
