I'm looking for a new telly for the living room for less than £1k. Is there anything better than the new Sony W815?

Cheers

Just a bit of an update, our new W815 was delivered yesterday and it's fantastic, decades ahead of our our Panasonic Plasma in picture clarity and colour. Function wise, we're still finding our way around.......

The basic sound quality is a little weak but I take it all these modern TVs are designed to be used with a sound bar. We've matched the Sony with an Orbit Sound soundbar with separate sub which sounds huge for film and music TV, but lacks some depth for normal programmes. Maybe I just need to play with the settings.

Quick question, to allow me to use the record function on the Sony, do I need a HDR recorder / receiver, or a separate HDD like you'd use to back up a computer. My old one won't plug into the USB HDD REC outlet?

Cheers
