Bose solo £300 at currys any good?

Looking for a simple set up as I seem tk have to crank up the volume on TV to hear the words but the problem is I do that and background noise or sounds effect seems to be overpowering to the words/ speech

Can the volume be changed via a sky remote or does it have to be changed via the supplied bose remote?

Are there buttons on the unit to change volume and power on?
