Looking to change my 46" Panasonic for a shiny new toy.

4K's ? Read the early models were poor, but latest generation are improving. I know there isn't a huge amount of content yet apart from Netflix 4K, but would like to get something with future capabilities?

Most of my Movies are streamed by Ethernet via my NAS, so will use the TV to watch HD Films and SKY HD.

Any recommendations please? Budget is £1500 max

p.s. Hate these new curved jobies

Decided I need to upgrade to a good TV sooner rather than later. 4K capabilities is not important, but having it is nice for future.
So have narrowed it down to the Sony KD-49X8505 or Samsung UE48HU7500. Both look excellent TVs and really can't split them on performance, but think the Samsung is just swinging it at the moment.

But in the future your TV's 4k may not be the same standard as future 4k?
That's fine. Know the score

Ended up getting a Samsung UE48HU7500 4K. I must say once at home and setup its really impressive. Dynamic and Movie settings, the picture clarity and blacks are like nothing i've seen on a TV before. SKY TV looks amazing and Blu Ray is off the clock. Very Happy purchase.
