JBL car speakers
Discussion
It is a 1998 e36 BMW 318iS, so not a 'modern' OEM system I would guess.
I have just fitted a simple Kenwood CD/USB/iPod headunit and replaced the OEM front speakers with the JBLs. Although the main fronts are tucked away in the footwells, which is not ideal (!), the sound from this setup is very good.
I have not yet disconnected the OEM door tweeters, .
I am debating whether to also upgrade the rear OEM speakers, or just switch them 'off' ie have the fader setting on full fronts...
I have read various opinions about this, but to me the sound using the fronts only is very good.
