Jerky Sky Go

When I first start any "catch up" or "on demand" programme on Sky Go it is really jerky. It appears to go off as the programme progresses but it's really annoying. It doesn't do it with any "on now" programmes.

My speeds are perfectly adequate at around 12mb. I run Sky Go on my laptop via a VPN (Hide My Ass)

Now the cynic in me feels that maybe they want me to pay for the upgrade to be able to record the programme but perhaps I do our Sky friends a disservice.

Anyone else had this problem and managed as fix?
