I start a new job on Monday and will be spending a lot of time on the train. Which headphones will shut noise out, not 'leak' noise, be portable/not make me look like a cock and sound great?

Thanks for the replies. Does anyone use on ear headphones anymore or do in ear work better? It seems the trend is massive cans or buds. No in between. I have weird shaped ears which have never suited buds of any kind.

Ah, thanks for explaining, I understand now. So which IEMs can you recommend? Don't mind spending a few quid for decent quality.

Wormus - what did you go for in the end?
I took a punt on some Rock Jaw Alfa Genus headphones for £48. Only ordered them yesterday and they haven't turned up yet but they have 2 tuning filters which I like the sound of. Good reviews too.

How you getting on Wormus?

I've discovered there is a bewildering array of stuff out there confused and havin hoped to find a cheeky bargain in the £100 area, I've so far failed. irked

Been looking at the Klipsch X11i and Beyerdynamic iDX 160 iE as I've decided I really do want a 3 button remote paperbag
For £50 I'm pretty chuffed actually. Fit is good and with the silver filters in place you get a good mix of bass and clear mid range. The filters do come unscrewed though as the threads in the aluminium are fairly coarse. I'll probably just glue them in place.
