Worth going for or is it a gimmick?

Was looking at them in Currys as we need a new TV, looks fantastic but will we regret it in 12 months?

Surely only a loner?

Must be a bit rubbish if you've got a group watching and you get stuck on the end!
It would be in the corner of the room smile

The next 3d I think. As in all the rage but then just dies a seat when people realise it doesn't add anything sufficient to make up for the downsides.

I might be proven wrong though. It did happen once before in 96.

Having spent years making screen flat and so thin that they sound crap and will mount on a wall, they are now making them stick out again.
Yeah, this is along the lines of what I'm thinking; I'm not impressed with 3D. It's the 4k that was amazing.

laugh

I don't much difference between curved & flat but I don't want to buy Betamax when I should have bought VHS wink

This would be a wedding present, so we need to invest it wisely, as we wouldn't be able to replace for a fair few years!

No idea how long they will last but impressed by the picture on one and it would suit my humble room. Seeing as I do not want to screw one to the wall and only have a corner where it will really go.
This is what drew me to it; it would fit in the corner of the room better.

Screen size, without taking up the whole room

Spent a good 20 minutes today looking at it from all possible angles.

The view was as good from all of them smile

Still undecided...

I've got a curved 48" Samsung and love it. It's in the corner of the room so seemed to make more sense, but I actually find the picture superb from most viewing spots.

The curve is not hugely noticeable, so I'm not sure it's worth spending much more money on, but I've never regretted it since purchase about 6 months ago.
This is my POV, to me it is logical as it's in the corner of the room and will 'fit' better.

The viewing experience is the same from all the angles I could try yesterday, I was stood looking at it and sat on a wheely chair for the full 180 semi circle, at various distances.
