My house has a single satellite outlet in the corner of the room which is currently connected to a Freesat box and on to my TV. I'd like to put the TV elsewhere in the room, but I can't run a length of coax from the socket to the new location as it's around doors, stairs etc and it's a rented house so no lifting carpets or drilling holes allowed.

Is it possible for me to connect the freesat box to the socket and then send the signal to the TV somehow if it's about 6m away on the other side of a wall? If so, what gubbins do I need to make it happen? Would doing that degrade the signal?

I'd imagine I can get some kind of remote control sender that will allow me to control the freesat box without a direct line of sight. Is that right?

Thanks.

You got any experience using something like this? I'm particularly concerned with picture quality issues - i live in the sticks and use netflix quite a lot. There's already a quality issue due to my slow internet connection and I'm worried about making it worse.
