Turn my plasma in to internet web browsing TV
Discussion
Got a 50" G20 panny plasma, which I love...... however just picked up a message that you tube will no longer be supported ..... it's the only thing I use on it's internet function ...... bottle of wine and watching old pop-videos on night in....
couple that just come back from mates house helping install their new 4k Samsung tv.... was shocked to find google browsing on it..... and fancy that....
TV is currently connected via virgin media router.......
so what can I do, what is a cost effective way of upgrading without entering into contracts, additional monthly payments (already pay about £100/month to virgin for all their services)
don't particular want to stream from computer to tv either,,,,,,,,, basically browsing functionality on tv from sofa and not having to switch on hundreds of devices, and will also be looking at getting a remote keyboard if possible (again what would work ?)

Talk to me about those Android boxes...... I understand the concept of apps and getting access to features etc...... but can you do basic web browsing? it's not clear....
The pc sticks look great, but offer way to much functionality....... just basically want web browsing, maybe access to films, and def to you tube.....

Hmmmm lots to think about, but the more reading I do the Android based boxes the more I am thinking there is a long term cost saving on TV packages
Yeah, depends what you've already got, what you want how much you want to spend.Hmmmm lots to think about, but the more reading I do the Android based boxes the more I am thinking there is a long term cost saving on TV packages
