Wall Mounted TV

I have a 60" TV mounted on my wall and its very close hardly any gap behind at all, Unfortunately I wasn't present when it was fitted so couldn't see how it was done.
I now have the problem after purchasing a new Xbox one that I need to insert the HDMI cable.
How are these things fitted to the wall ? so obviously firstly some brackets are fixed to the wall and im then assuming something is screwed in the back of the TV but how are the two connected together, The space behind is too small to get hands into for screwing the two together.
I am thinking that either the TV just lifts on and off the wall bracket ? or some kind of V lever system that allows the TV to lift slightly and then tilt forward.
If anybody can give me some advise it would be appreciated !
