So I've lost BBC 1, 2, itv & channel 4 HD channels. I'm ignorant about this kind of thing, so before I go through the painful process of contacting BT, could someone tell me whether this signal comes through my aerial or the internet connection? We had strong winds around the time the channels went AWOL, so wondered about the aerial.

I've not got a BT Vision (?) box so please check this, but I think the HD content comes via t'internet.

IT Crowd solution, but have you tried switching the router (and, for good measure, the BT box) off and on again ?

Sounds like the sensible first move! I'll let you know the outcome.

So I switched the box off at the plug for 5 minutes. No difference. Then I went into the settings and retuned it and now channels 101,102,103 and 104 have vanished! Does this suggest I need to get on the roof and move the direction of the aerial?

I bet the problem lies with your aerial. Use the following link to find out about your local transmitter.

http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/coveragechecker/main/in...

Apart from information about channels the result also gives you a compass bearing to point your aerial at.

All the missing channels you listed are on the BBC B multiplex.
Great, thanks. I've downloaded a compass app on my phone and if it's a dry weekend, I'll be up on the roof with it!
