Finished my contract and sky weren't offering me more than £6 off my subscription so canceled after they told me sky q was £149 upfront for me but £10 fro new customers!

Only want one box in the main lounge, but fould hd and my 2tb very unreliable never get them filled before they start crashing and need wiping.

Is it worth £44 a month which we paid £40 for family pack and an extra box.

I'm an existing Sky HD customer and think it's a complete rip off:

1. No UHD / 4k
2. Bluetooth good if you use the remote, means it won't work with my Harmony remote
3. The cost
4. Nothing wrong with the current HD box if you change the drive and have 1tb++
There is uhd/4K compatibility but it's being released in the future, that's what I was told.

Cost wise it's 18 month contract and is a bit dearer than normal sky but they cover the box as long as you have it, rather than normal 12 month warranty.

I have had a number of unreliable boxes and my current 2tb is not great. My multi room standard he is very slow.

Yesterday afternoon sky rang me as i cancelled on the 21st, as they offered me £5 off a month of £44 package if I signed a 12 month contract.

10 days on retentions call me and offer me £27 a month for 9 months no contract.

In the end beat them down to £22 a month for 12 months no contract so will wait for sky que to come down.

Extra £10 on normal q isn't though they have just sent it live.

Sticking with my 2tb box at half price with £3 multi room, I think until q proves itself or comes down in price.

First world problems, I know, but Q isn't really ready for consumers yet

I'm technical and the number of issues that should have been ironed out with proper testing is ridiculous

The mini boxes frequently loose connection to the main box and they get red hot - I mean so hot that they need coasters underneath them as they are too hot to touch

There appears to have been a complete lack of user interface testing - the functionality has gone backwards and is inconsistent - eg the up and down arrows scroll through the channels in a different direction depending on whether you are in the menu or the search and scan banner. You can't fast forward a set time anymore, favourite channels have gone, no remote record, planner is an afterthought. The ipad download feature is only available on some recordings ... the list goes on

My experience of support is that they couldn't care less - certainly not premium!
This was my concern and certainly the case when they launched hd, first 6 months had 3 new boxes.

Sky don't seem to care, my 2tb box isn't that reliable and my friend got the 1tb which he is only his umpteen replacement.

Don't think I have ever had a box that didn't need some attention every 6 months.
