Projector recommendations please

Want to setup a projector viewing room for films. Have a room 4.8 m wide and 9.9 m long and 2.65 m high. At the “screen” end in the corners are two columns reducing the max screen width to about 4m. I plan to position loudspeakers in front of the two columns.
I would plan to hang the projector from the ceiling. Cable access is not a problem. The room has motorised external blinds so light is not a problem.
Given that I could have a picture theoretically 4 m wide what would be the recommended projector distance from the screen, front row distance from the screen and what models up to say a budget between 500 and 1000 would anyone recommend. Thanks for any help as I have never tried to set up something like this before.
