Folks,

Looking for ideas. I've mounted the TV and soundbar on the wall today, really happy with how it looks and works buttttt....

I've got that stuff on the floor to try and hide. I need to have a power bar down there and also possibly an XBox but am struggling to think of a creative way to hide it. I'm going to run the power cable through the boxing to prevent one cable going round the corner but I do need *something* down there...

Would rather not have a cabinet there as it defeats the purpose of wall mounting but are there any shelves which might work?!?

I don't own the property, it belongs to my mum so I have a degree of latitude but certainly didn't want to start cutting big holes in the plasterboard!

You've just broken my OCD, how can you have those offset?
Sorry for triggering you! Soundbar is actually dead centre with the TV bracket, which has loads of adjustment, but when I push it back to the wall it'll be reet, honest!

Wall mount the Xbox etc and make a feature of it.

I saw it once and it was done to make each component look like a PCB - very effective.
Thanks, I've seen the picture but it wouldn't suit the room sadly!

Thanks all, definitely don't want a cabinet as it will look better without. Main stumbling block is finding somewhere for the Xbox 360, a big ugly lump with an ugly lump of a power supply too!

I've seen a few wall mounts which mount it flush to the wall so I could potentially put that in behind the TV mount, then all I have to do is nicely route the power cables.

Bulldog, THANK YOU... that's the benefit of the hive mind since I simply hadn't thought of that. Very good plan which will also eliminate 2 data cables to the power line adaptor. I do need to get a new power bar though but that makes a lot of sense.

XBox can go flat against the wall behind the TV (it'll always be out at an angle for viewing anyway)

Oakey, I was way ahead of you, that vent came out weeks ago but I was very disappointed to find that it's well-filled boxing for a soil pipe so I can't do much with it! May get away with running a cable neatly around the corner inside it though.

Right, all sorted. Thanks very much for the tips.

Doesn't look much different from the front angle...

Buttt.... I've now got all of the power and ancillary cables, XBox and indeed a space for wired powerline network adapter (arriving tomorrow) tucked behind.

Time for a beer. The only fly in the ointment is that my Xbox has apparently stopped working rofl

Looks much better!

How do you find the Arcam soundbar, I'm looking to pickup one along with the matching sub?
It's fantastic. You can currently pick it up for £299 delivered from Nintronics, same again for the sub.

I currently don't have a sub to go with it as I've run out of money for fun stuff but am strongly considering it. Sound quality even without the sub is excellent, really clear and good tone, I'm hoping the sub will make it 100%....

It's a nice neat solution, this has plenty of power for music throughout my whole downstairs without wires or faff!

Yeah, I hadn't realised how crap streaming over wifi would be so I've got a powerline adaptor on mine now!

Right, another arrival today. Solo sub biggrin

I could never justify the full RRP of this, another £500 on the cost of the soundbar, however I was wavering over Nintronics' offer of £299 delivered. Then I saw 2 subs from an outlet place. Open box... brand new. £240 delivered. Happy days.

So, it turns up and it's HUGE. Far bigger than expected.

I need to get some cable clips for the power line, but it's wireless input. Which is nice!
