New Floor Standers
Discussion
Afternoon folks. I am hoping for some advice regarding my imminent purchase of some new floor standers. I am currently using a pair of missions 734 but they have cracked drivers (common problem).
I have been in contact with Richer sounds and asked about the Focal 716 (£780), some Q acoustics 2050/3050 (£350/£500) and some Cambridge audio SX80’s (£370). They replied suggesting the Focal 726 (£1000), Monitor Audio Silver 8 (£1000) or the Tannoy XT6F (£1000) for my amplification.
My receiver is a Yamaha RXA1040 which I believe is 110W/c in 2 channel stereo. Not sure about the ratings in 5/7 channel.
Does anybody have experience of these speakers and would anyone like to suggest some others worth looking at.
I love the look of the Klipsch RP-260F’s but I can find anywhere near (or even in the Uk) that stock these. I am worried about the brightness off these speakers but believe this has been toned down somewhat in the latest RP offerings.

Thanks, i have bought a lot of HiFi gear second hand but usually under £100. I am not totally against buying used but maybe only from a dealer if that makes sense.
Ive had my old missions for almost 25 years in which they have been used daily (for music or HT) so hoping to get a similar life span out of my new ones.

Try these fellows and save an awful lot of money. Well, that is if you are not hell-bent on buying new speakers.
Ah, Wilmslow Audio as well.
Both outfits extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
I struggled with that link, i could not find any speakers for sale on the site. I was looking through a "letterbox" at work so might have missed it.Try these fellows and save an awful lot of money. Well, that is if you are not hell-bent on buying new speakers.

Amazing speaker, one of my favourite speakers regardless of price.
I am just about to put a pair of the S-2 book shelves in my sitting room with a Rel sub.
I may take a serious look at these then. At £1200 they are double the price of the Klipsch Rp-260f which I initially wanted to try. I am just about to put a pair of the S-2 book shelves in my sitting room with a Rel sub.
