Recording from smart TV.
Discussion
I have just bought a new LG smart TV.
In the instructions it states you can record from the program guide onto an external storage device.
I have put a 128gb memory stick into the USB to record onto.
One program failed to record, another recorded 20 mins and another was patchy and unwatchable in places.
Am I better off using an external hard drive to record onto?
Or is it that the program guide is not very reliable.
I want to get rid of the freesat box i'm currently using.
Thanks

SD cards are only up to 4GB in total size anyway, so couldn't hold a file larger than 4GB; any 'SD' card larger than that is an SDHC card. On pen drives (like the OP is using) the size limit will be more to do with the formatting system used; 32bit systems (like FAT32, which is how most drives come) can only deal with 4GB files, FAT can only have 2GB files. NTFS supports 2TB+ volumes with massive individual file sizes, which is why it's been recommended to the OP.
So how do I go about formatting it for NTFS?Do I just format it on my laptop and choose that file type?
I'm a bit of a novice to this.
Thanks
edit: I have just formatted it to NTFS so will see what happens tonight.
