Classic/bargain must have hi-fi / AV kit

Instead of all this new fangled stuff that we keep hearing about, what would the PH collective suggest as classic must have bits of AV kit?

Are there things on ebay that go for a steal as they just aren't interesting to consumers nowadays? I'm thinking things like McLaren DVD players, Sony CD players (I forget the model number of the one I mean!) etc etc...

Finally had a chance to sit and sift through this thread, loads of Googling to be done!

However, ebay doesn't throw up hits for lots of the stuff mentioned, what are the other good online resources for used hi-fi kit?

Parents are getting rid and having an all in one 5.1 surround system. It's all my old stuff anyway, they inherited it when I upgraded.

I have a very similar tuner and I think the very same rack!
