My father in law is looking for a radio reciever with CD for his kitchen.
The problem is that he lives in Shetland in a paticularly poor reception area, so he'll either need an internet radio or one with an ariel input (so that he can connect it to one in the loft with a booster, not sure if this will work though).

Budget is up to around the £300 mark.

Not entirely sure (I live near Aberdeen), I don't think it's too bad as they're quite near Sullom Voe.

I think the biggest problem is that he's not sure what he wants! There is more to this than I previously thought...

The kitchen (where he wants the radio) is in the old croft part of the house, this has walls that are around 2 feet thick and that's blocking the siginal.
I've suggested moving the wi-fi closer to the kitchen as it's currently upstairs (no idea why, they only use it in the living room).

Are wi-fi boosters worth having? the other option may be drilling a hole in the wall, but he'll need that for an ariel cable or a cabel to the modem.

I've told him to go for the homeplugs and the squeezebox. However what he actually goes home with may be completely different. Thanks for the advice.
