so in short... you are saying something magical happens, and I will see a significant difference between my HD ready TV, and a full HD tv when just watching HD TV.

You did explain yourself to start of with smile ... I was just looking for a simple answer about HDTV and it's compatability/quality of picture with HD Ready and Full HD sets..... just to satisfy my curiosity.

Got the blu-ray sony bd550, and surround sound Yamaha dsp e800 processor/Roksan Kandy 111 amp/Monitor Audio's silver 5is /10i front, mission 7ds rear, dali suit SWA 12....... yes my processor probably needs updating but it sounds ok to me at present, and yes i am considering a new tv as 1) never been imprssed with the pic and 2) I sit 13ft away from the screen and 40" looks lost..... how I ever manged with a 28inch crt wide screen is beyond me hehe

it's now spend minimal n buy 50"G20 plasma, but the horror stories deter me,,,, but if can get sorted under waranty not an issue..... or spend more on 3d, which will prob be out dated in a year or two... money says bog standard 2d at mo.... now just convince myself smile
