13th - 16th June

The plan would basically be to drive there Friday, drive around Saturday and Sunday, and drive home Monday.
I’d also like to make the trip as flexible as possible. So you can go from driving the full long weekend to maybe only doing one day or maybe only joining in for a few hours if you live locally.

So far there are 4 confirmed.
1. Rochester TVR - Cerbera 4.5
2. Albir - Chimaera 450
3. Nigel - Porsche 911
4. Nigels +1 - Lotus Elise S1

Costs & Booking

http://www.laterooms.com/en/hotel-reservations/720...

Total hotel costs - £205 or £165 if you get the above deal.

Lunch arrangements.

Sat 14th.

Sun 15th.
The Black Lion, Llanhair Talhaiarn

Both restaurants are roughly £15-£20 per head.

Day 1 – Friday
Those of us heading along the M4, we could all meet at the Reading Services around lunch time and continue on to Wales in convoy. We will staying in Llandovery on the western edge of the Brecon Beacons which just so happens to be at the end of the of the A4069, so at least we get a bit of pleasure after the long motorway slog of getting there! If we get to the hotel around 4ish those of us that fancy it could have a go at some of the roads nearby before we all have diner and drinks together in the evening.

Day 2 - Saturday
The 2nd day is the start of the real fun. After breakfast we head out and with the A4069 on our door step it would be rude not to have another blast along it. We then zig zag our way across the Brecon Beacons before taking in what look like some of the best roads of the weekend up through central wales before heading for an Irish Sea coastal road which then leads us to our riverside hotel for the evening. Cue, more food and drinks!

Day 3 - Sunday
The 3rd day centres around Snowdonia, taking in the Llanberis pass, the EVO triangle and the A470 to name but a few. We stay in Bala for the 3rd night leaving the motorway drive home til Monday morning.

Many Thanks
Lee

Hi Nick
Thanks for the advice, especially about checking for cycling events.

In regards to bank holiday weekend I was/am of the opinion that it would be easier because of taking time off work. However there will be increased walkers / cyclists / caravans which could get in the way of our fun...

If there is enough interest then it can easily be made the weekend before or after.

UPDATE

Its been a while but it is finally here...

The route, hotels, restaurants, petrol stops are now all decided on and most importantly the date is set.

13th - 16th June

I have already booked the hotels for me and my dad (he'll be bringing his Chimaera) and have booked lunch at two pubs (provisional tables of 10 at the moment).

If you are going to come then you need to book the following hotels on the dates given.

1st night: Friday 13th
The Kings Head, Llandovery - £65.00
http://www.laterooms.com/en/hotel-reservations/272...

2nd night: Saturday 14th
George the Third, Dolgellau - £75.00
http://www.georgethethird.co.uk/

3rd night: Sunday 15th
White Lion Royal, Bala - £65.00 (they have a £25 deal on if you are quick!)
http://www.laterooms.com/en/hotel-reservations/720...

Total hotel costs - £205 or £165 if you get the above deal.

Lunch arrangements.

Sat 14th.
Gwesty Cymru, Aberystwyth
http://gwestycymru.com/restaurant/

Sun 15th.
The Black Lion, Llanhair Talhaiarn
http://theblacklionnorthwales.co.uk/index.asp

Both restaurants are roughly £15-£20 per head.

Evening meals will be either at the hotels or nearby.

The route takes in the best roads in Wales as well as some lesser known ones. Mileage is roughly an easy 185miles a day (Sat & Sun) with plently breaks and photo ops factored in so it doesn't become a chore.

Closer to the time I will email out a pack to those that are coming with all the information you could need and an ITN file for your TomToms (ill do the Garmin ones too). I'll also arrange some walkie talkies so we can all stay in touch while on the road.

If you cant make the whole weekend then you are more than welcome to join us for as much or as little time as you feel like.

Cheers
Lee

Send me a PM and I'll reply with the ITN files.

When we went the Eastern side of the triangle was being resurfaced. I would double check it's condition before you go to avoid any Disappointments.
