With May being an exceptionally busy month for events, what was going to be a two day tour has now been restricted to a one day trip on the 9th May. We are proposing to go to the Lakeland Motor Museum in Newby Bridge, which as you know is home to TVR2 and the Speed 12.

Pending on numbers the museum will reserve their South car park for us and give a group discount - basically 20 people for a group.

There will be two options to get there. For members wanting to get there and back quickly there is the direct M6 route and for those wanting a "scenic option" - I am working on it!

As to dates the 9th was put in the diary as it was obviously going to be the first day of the tour with a stop over - keeping this date will still give that option if needed and I can arrange for rooms at the adjacent Whitewater Hotel. Otherwise if the consensus falls for the 10th .... then will need to be the same numbers to get the Lakeland benefits!

Let me know if interested asap!

Daggsy - It would seem so, but I am having another go with the museum to see if we can get a concession so as to allow people arriving at different times of the day. I will keep you informed!

Due to the congestion of events in May it has been decided to postpone until later this year (Sept / Oct) to avoid holidays etc. It will be a 2 day tour for those that want to. Those that want to attend only on the Sunday will be welcome. Watch this space!

We are now looking to do this over the weekend of 10th/11th October. There will be two options:

1. The "Tour" involving run through York Dales, Northumberland, Cumbria/ Lakes with overnight stop and dinner.

or

2. Simply arrive on Sunday at the museum.

The more we have for the museum the better as there will be discounted admissions and we can reserve our private car park. Similarly, to negotiate best rates for overnight!

Let me have expressions of interest to ascertain numbers and logistics!

Update - Recce run will be done on Monday coming! Stopover details will follow. Anyone just for the Sunday Museum visit are welcome. Numbers for the latter will be useful as need to arrange museum discounts and designated parking.

A successful recce today. An amended route will be available by the end of the week if not sooner! There has been a change to the lunch stop and The Whitewater Hotel in Backbarrow, Ulverston has been block booked (complete hotel of 38 rooms) for the overnight stop over, if required, and will be held for us for a limited period.
.
The rates are £77.50pp for Dinner, bed & breakfast or £57.50pp for B&B only. Quote TVRCC

Single, doubles and twins are available of various standards. email or pms me for the full details.

Similarly, pending numbers The Lakeland Motor Museum will give us dedicated parking in their South car park and concessionary rates if we have over 20 members attending.

Please keep me in the loop so that I can keep an eye on numbers and issue any concession tickets especially those that are only attending the museum on Sunday. Ideally email me directly at ro@tvrcc-highpeak.co.uk

Also keep an eye on High Peak Forum and here for updates.

Guys thanks for the support. This will be a great event. Just need to get it at top of events! The last trip here for the 40th anniversary of the M for our Patron's ownership was mega.

I have received a Group Menu Form from the Whitewater which I will be sending out to those I know are attending. This needs to be returned within at least 3 days before our arrival date as it gives their Kitchen team the benefit of having all our requirements prepared beforehand and ease the service.

If anyone who is going and does not receive the menus, please email me or pm me asap.

I sent this through to Daggsy, but for anyone else wanting join us at Appleby:

Here is Google link for the layby on the A66 we could meet up at:

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@54.5848313,-2.48889...

This should be the first Layby after Appleby.

I think it will take us about 3.25 hours (12.00 - 12.15pm pending traffic / stragglers) to get there, but I can keep you advised by phone, pending signals! This will then allow us just over an hour to reach our lunch stop.

Failing the "best laid plans", it will be the first that see parked up TVR's in a layby after Appleby!
